I can't believe my baby is starting preschool already! Wasn't he just born? But nope, this gregarious, talkative, curious little soul is ready to take the leap from toddler to preschooler and this fall he will do just that. We toured the school with big brother who could show him the ropes, got some special school clothes and shoes, and put his name on everything.

At our preschool they ask that everything be labeled with your child's name. It makes perfect sense, but it can be a tedious process made all the more difficult when half your items are dark. A black sharpie on a navy sweatshirt doesn't really cut it. So I made I very simple stamp than can be coated in white fabric paint and got marking. If you'd like to make you're own I've included a little tutorial below.
DIY Name Stamp
You'll need:
- Rubber carving block
- Linoleum cutter in size 1
- Pencil
- Paper
- Fabric paint
How to:
- First write your child's name in heavy pencil, then lay it face down on your carving block and rub back and forth to transfer the image. Your letters will be backwards, that's a good thing!
- Use your carving tool to cut along the lines which is much easier than taking away everything behind and between the letters.
- Brush your stamp with fabric paint and go label crazy!
And just like that, he's ready for school!!
