The family budget doesn't allow for an elaborate vacation (or any vacation really). But I'm not sure we need one. You see, we live twenty minutes away from one of my favorite places on the planet: my grandma's ranch. There are gorgeous views, a refreshing pool, spacious grass, a friendly horse, and room to garden. I feel so blessed that my grandparents settled here. It is the site of countless good memories, from childhood joys to grown-up love. It will always feel like home to me. And when this is your home, who needs a vacation? Not to say I wouldn't mind a week or so off ...
