Jude,
I know Mother's Day is about appreciating everything your mother does for you, but I wanted to take a moment to thank you for making me a mom.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a mother; it was (and is) my dream job. I don't simply love being a mom, I love being your mom. Don't get me wrong, it has been much harder than I expected. We certainly have our fair share of disagreements, not to mention tears. And I had no idea how much I would worry. But, I also had no idea how much I would love you.
The joy that you bring me is impossible to put into words. (It is also impossible to write about a mother's love without using cliches, but you're three, so I'm pretty sure you don't mind.) When I look into those big brown eyes of yours, I understand why I was put on this earth.
Please know that while I make many mistakes, I spend each and every day trying to be the best mom I can be. Thank you for teaching me how to be more flexible, inquisitive, and forgiving. Thank you for fueling my creativity and making me laugh. Thank you for bringing so much happiness to everyone in the family.
Thank you for being you. I so deeply appreciate that I have the honor of raising such a sweet, bright, healthy, confident little boy. You didn't just make me a mom, you made me a better person. I love you more than you will ever know.
XOXO,
Mom
