I've knit my first blanket! It didn't take as long as I thought it would, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
I followed the pattern closely, although I chose different colors. I went with the recommended Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Yarn in Taupe, Dark Grey, Linen, Mustard, and Scarlet. I really like the color choices and wash-ability of this yarn, but mostly I was won over by the price. I didn't want to invest too much cash in my first throw. The next blanket I make will likely include a splurge for nicer yarn, I think I've earned it. This blanket is already getting a lot of use.
Keeping a little one with the sniffles nice and cozy.
And making a very regal cat exceedingly happy. She thinks I made it for her, and who could blame her, it does coordinate quite nicely with her coat.
With that big project down, I'm back to little quick knits. This will be a pair of hand warmers for my sister. And in the spirit of yarn along, I am reading How to Be Good by Nick Hornby. I don't often pick up popular fiction, but I wanted a nice light read and I am really enjoying it. Have you read anything good lately?
Here's to another project complete! Happy Knitting!
