It seems as though the internet will not rest until the world is covered in chalkboard paint, and I am not immune. I love it, I'm obsessed, and I might need an intervention. It's just so fun, and easy, and cheap. So when I decided that the brick red of our storage side-table had to go, (it was clashing with the new pillows), I couldn't ignore the siren song of the chalkboard paint I had on hand. I love the matte black finish. Plus, look at all the cool things you can do:
Write a fun message.
Add a little extra mid-century flair.
Or play a game of tic-tac-toe.
Best of all, hours (okay, more like minutes) of toddler entertainment!
In the spirit of the William Morris Project, I also got rid of: 4 packs of cards (all short of 52), 3 almost gone skeins of yarn, assorted knitting needles (stored properly), many random scraps of paper, and a few rocks (?). The side table now only houses board games. Maybe we'll actually play one every once in a while.
How about you? Have you tried chalkboard paint? Would you chalkboard a piece of furniture? Should we start a twelve step program?
Happy Chalkboarding!
