I couldn't let Jason have all the hand making fun. I figured, what better to go with a professional kitchen than a proper chef's hat and apron?
The hat pattern is from Meg's first book Sew Liberated (a gift from my thoughtful sister-in-law - score!). I made a few minor changes: I narrowed the brim a bit, I skipped the interfacing, and I only had a small piece of fabric so the circle for the crown is actually two half circles sewn together. The apron is a free pattern, also by Meg of Sew Liberated, it can be found here. I love that Jude can get the apron on and off by himself (provided he remembers to put it on before the hat). I can't get over how cute he looks in it. And for extra cuteness, here's what happens if I ask him to smile for the camera:
Here's to crafty parents and happy kids.
