Welcome to another installment of the Small & Friendly no obligation Baby Book Club. Today's theme is friendship. There are two books that Jude and I can't get enough of lately, and they both emphasize the beauty and importance of good friends.
The Farm Friendship: Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle, illustrated by Jill McElmurry
Jude loves it because: the main character is a blue truck! Plus its got farm animals, great rhymes, and a dump truck!
Mom loves it because: it teaches you to be kind, friendly, patient, and helpful. Plus, the goat butt makes me smile every time.
The Zoo Friendship: A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip C. Stead, illustrated by Erin Stead
Jude loves it because: there's an elephant. And so many great things to find within the illustrations.
Mom loves it because: the illustrations and story are both beautiful and touching.
I will admit that these stories are a little more involved and perhaps best for a toddler, but I'm sticking with "Baby Book Club" because I like how it sounds. If you are looking for a recommendation for the under one set, I think this set of lift-the-flap books is where it's at. Jude still loves them. And Where is Baby's Mommy? cracks me up because (spoiler alert!) mommy is hiding under the covers, ha!... well played, mommy, well played.
Have you read these books, and if so, did you like them? Do you have a favorite friendship book?
