Okay, I clearly did not make two shirts in one hour on the first day of KCWC. I got a bit of a head start. I used this awesome tutorial from Craftiness Is Not Optional to draft my pattern. The only changes I made were long sleeves and a neck line that was higher in the back (to make it more boyish). I also skipped all the top stitching described in the tutorial, because I am lazy. As for the hem: my twin needle and I are not on speaking terms. (You'll notice I went for an unfinished hem on one of the shirts.)
This is only the second time I have sewn knit, and I am really happy with how these turned out. Most of the toddler shirts I see in stores tend to be too short and too wide, so making my own is a great solution. Plus, if you raid Daddy's t-shirt collection they cost zero in materials.
I've got a lot of other things planned for this week. In fact, I'm half way through a pair of pocket pants (from this awesome book), and I want to make at least one more pair of pants and a hat. Here's to hoping I've got the stamina.
