I finally sewed something! It was time to wipe the dust off the old machine, what with Kids Clothes Week Challenge coming up. Are you joining KCWC this time around?
My parents have two pugs: Jovi and Petunia. They are lovable, adorable in a non-conventional way, and how do I put this politely ... a "unique" size. When your dog's neck is larger than its head, a collar is sort of pointless. And the store bought harnesses don't account for a pug's porcine girth. What's a pug lover to do? Why, sew their own of course.
I stumbled upon this tutorial, and after some major pattern altering, I was in business. I was able to make two custom and fashion-forward pug harnesses in a few hours, and just in time for their stay at our house this weekend. We had to take a few extra walks to showcase their new looks.
Here's to harnesses as cool as the dogs that wear them.
P.S. - I learned that the only thing harder to photograph in a handmade outfit than a toddler ... is a dog.
