No, I didn't get a book deal. (Although, if you were considering an offer ... the answer is YES!) I made a book of the first year worth of posts. I had a killer Groupon for Blurb, and I am grateful for the expiration date, or I may never have gotten it done. A note about Blurb's blog-to-book "slurping": for Typepad, it totally sucks. I ended up pulling over each post and formatting it with InDesign, which was very time consuming, but I'm happy with the results. The actual print quality and customer service at Blurb is great.
It feels so nice to have a tangible, bound collection of all my hard work. And since many of the posts feature Jude, it's like the baby book I never finished. I definitely plan to make another volume next year (hopefully by then the blog-to-book software will be better). It has been so fun to look back, and I can't help looking forward to the day when I might share this little piece of nostalgia with a grown-up Jude.
