What a week! I definitely logged some extras hours to complete these shorts, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thrilled to be finished.
I learned a lot of things the hard way on these little bad boys, but I am very happy with how they turned out. I used this tutorial from Made, although I designed my own pocket shape and instead of pants, I made clam diggers that roll up to shorts. My favorite bits are the details.
I lined the pockets in red and added two lines of red top stitching to the openings.
The buttons are from my great grandmother's stash, and I feel like the little roll-up tabs really make the shorts.
I'll be honest, I'm not sure I'll be sewing anything else for a while, I just don't have the stamina. However, I am so glad that I participated in the KCWC. I learned a ton, was super inspired, and ended up with quite a few new things for Jude's wardrobe. He seems pretty happy about it.
I want to thank Meg for hosting such a fun challenge. My favorite part has been seeing all the amazing things everyone else created on the flickr group. KCWC, not easy, but to borrow Jude's favorite word ...
